Fillings

Fillings are placed when a small area of the tooth has decay (caries) or cavities.  They can be tooth colored or silver.  Tooth decay can happen in between the teeth, at the gum line, or on the biting surface (grooves in the tops of the teeth).  Fillings can also replace small areas that have been chipped.
